The best known of all Hunter sprinklers is the Hunter PGP rotor sprinkler head. Hunter was long known as "The Rotor Company" but they have now branched into developing more products and are keeping up with its main rival, Rain Bird.
Hunter spay heads are very similar to Rainbird, but their rotors are definitely different. The Hunter PGP's rubber cap design does a great job at keeping debris from getting into the rotor and damaging it. One thing I do not like about all Hunter rotors are their nozzles. They just don't seem to do as good as job as Rainbird's patented Rain Curtain nozzles and they tend leave hot spots close in towards the sprinkler head.
Much like Rainbird, one can install a complete Hunter irrigation system. What I mean by complete hunter irrigation system is that all the MAIN parts of the system or hunter products. The main parts include the irrigation controller, the sprinkler heads, and the electric valves, swing joints, and any weather sensor that might be needed. All the secondary parts include the wire, the pipe, the fittings, and miscellaneous materials needed such as PVC glue, wire nuts, and waterproof splice kits.
I believe that the best part of a Hunter sprinkler system are the controllers that are designed with additional module spots so that you may add extra zones to the sprinklers system if needed. I feel that this is one feature on their controllers is something that Hunter has truly beaten Rain Bird on, but don't tell anybody I said that!
Wishing you a happier, and care-free lawn care experience,
